This story is from St Paul’s in Newark, Ohio. It’s one we’ve all heard many times, and this one navigated some sharp bends but ultimately came through to the end.
“Parts were corroding; it was becoming difficult to play. It was noticeable,” said Willis Trainor, who headed the task force. “We started a campaign to raise the money and did a variety of activities to do so.”
With the campaign underway, members were hopeful their new organ would be arriving soon. But then the economy took a dive and the church was having problems meeting the budget, so the council voted to terminate the campaign beginning in January 2010.
