L’Organo 2016

L’Organo 2016

A friend reminded me that it was time once more to post the schedule for L’Organo, the organ series for Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, South Carolina. There are more organ events in the two week period of the Festival than you are likely to find anywhere. The concerts have changed from nearly all local organists to the bigger names which this year include Isabelle Demers and Maxine Thévenot. Nearly all of the concerts are within walking distance if you stay in the historic district.

I keep thinking that I should go every year, and every year something pops up and says “no!” Last year, it was a new roof. This year, it was major repairs to the furnace and air conditioning system. Oh well, maybe 2017!

If you go, take a small notebook and jot down a few notes so you can prepare a review. If you don’t have a place to publish it, send it me and I’ll post it here as I have in past years. And if you do have a spot to publish it, send me a link and I’ll share it.

  1. For those who love detail, here is the full program for 2016. It’s really well designed and a pleasure to peruse. Thanks to my friend in Charleston for this!
