Jesse Crawford (1895–1962), born in Woodland, California, was one of the most famous theatre organists. The “Poet
of the Organ” was known for his performances at the Chicago Theatre (1921–26) and the Paramount Theatre, Times Square (1926–1933)
and for his many recordings. He also performed, recorded, and taught using his three technique books for the Hammond organ:
Elementary,
Intermediate, and
Advanced.
During the 1950s, he published these organ methods, popular song arrangements, and his original organ compositions.
Pixie Parade is a very rhythmic piece that will prove to your audience that the organ can be a fun instrument to hear!
