William Arthur Goldsworthy (1878–1966) was
born in Cornwall, England, and studied at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. After his family emigrated to the United States in 1887, he
studied with Samuel P Warren. He was organist-choirmaster in several Episcopal churches in the New York City area, as well as organist
at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Washington Irving High School. “Caprice” is his first published organ piece. Easy.
