This is a new printing of the original edition on sturdy, acid-free paper. Price’s atmospheric piece is a quiet,
contemplative setting which uses only two notes of your Great Chimes. This would also work well with two handbells.

William H Price (death 1926) worked for the Aeolian Organ Company office in New York City, where he sold
organs and recorded several organ rolls, including one of this composition in 1919. The piece is dedicated to Harry Rowe
Shelley (1858–1947), organ and choral composer, church musician. He was one of the first four artists to record Duo-Art organ rolls.
“The Bells,” listed in the 1919 catalogue ... is “of decidedly meditative religious character, with a short chime
theme of only two notes, running through almost the entire composition.“ Moderately easy.
