Dénes recorded these pieces on the Baroque organ of the Cistercian
Abbey of Zirc, Hungary, a II/17 Aquincum (2004) built into the
existing 18th century casework. The new organ has a suspended mechanism and
the measurement of the fingerboards, the labels of the stops, and shape of
the bench were designed in accordance with historical specifications. Although
the number of 14 stops is relatively limited, the period scale of the pipes
makes the authentic performance of Baroque organ literature possible. The tuning
was based on Kirnberger. Includes a beautiful booklet in Hungarian, German,
and English. Michael’s
Music Service is the exclusive distributor of this recording. $15.00.
