A Andrews flourished in the 1870s, and not much else is known about him. His Fantasia, copyrighted in 1874, was part of a series called “The Great Organ in Plymouth Church.” Unusual in organ music, the pianistic tremolandi written by Andrews in the opening section help to create the dramatic sections which alternate with the beautiful, sentimental lyrical sections.
