Seth Daniels Bingham (1882-1972) was
convinced by a teacher that he should study in France, and so during 1906 in Paris he studied organ with Widor and Guilmant and
composition with d’Indy. He taught at Yale, Columbia, and Union Theological Seminary and served in churches. The French influence
is felt throughout his music. He dedicated this piece to Riverside’s then-current organist,
Harold Milligan. Moderate.
