This Is Newly Printed Music
Marco Enrico Bossi (1861–1925) was born in Italy and travelled over the world
playing popular organ concerts. Additionally, he conducted orchestras and composed music in several forms; he left more than
80 organ pieces in addition to his chamber music, operas, songs, choral works, piano pieces, and orchestral music.
Opus 78, with its 805 pedal notes, became one of Bossi’s most popular pieces. Notable early performances included those of Edwin
H Lemare in his first concert on March 1, 1902, as organist and director of music at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh and Samuel
A Baldwin at the 1904 St Louis World’s Fair on August 27, 1904. Moderately difficult.
