This Is Newly Printed Music
Joseph Waddell Clokey (1890-1960) was an organist and composer of many compositions in various media; he wrote more than two dozen organ works. Although he was an excellent
artist and photographer, he was widely known for a while as the father of Art Clokey, the creator of Gumby and Pokey and Davey and Goliath.
1. A Cheerful Fire,
2. The Wind in the Chimney,
3. Grandfather’s Wooden Leg,
4. Grandmother, Knitting,
5. The Cat,
6. Old Aunty Chloe,
7. The Kettle Boils.
These evocative atmospheric musical pictures have been popular since they were written. They were made into a player organ roll,
and the first full commercial recording was made in 1991 by Jonathan Rennert and is part of the CD “Organ Music for Fun”
from Priory (1994). These short character pieces guarantee audience approval! Easy to Moderate.
