Conrad K Dober (1891-1938), known as “Con Conrad,” was born in New York City and was a composer of songs
(including his first hit “Margie” as co-composer in 1920) and a Broadway show producer. After working in Manhattan, he
moved to Hollywood in 1929, where he worked on films such as “The Gay Divorcee” (1934) in which this song first appeared.
He received the first Academy Award for Best Song for this song in 1934.
Charles Cronham (1896–1969)
was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was a life-long advocate for the organ. He served as a
municipal organist in Portland, Maine; he taught, wrote, and arranged many pieces
through his life. Most of the Hammond registrations you see were provided by Cronham. Easy.
