Charles Cronham (1896–1969) was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was a life-long advocate for the organ;
he taught, wrote, and arranged many pieces through his life. He served as
municipal organist
in Portland, Maine, and for 26 years was organist-director at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City. He wrote and arranged
many pieces for organ throughout his life. Most of the Hammond registrations that you see in organ publications were provided by Cronham.
