Alfred Hollins (1865-1942), is probably best known for his A Trumpet Minuet (1929). The Concert Rondo is No 16 of The Recital Series of Original Organ Compositions (1900) from Novello. Its jocular theme over a pizzicato pedal requires agility and a steady rhythm. There is more than a hint of popular melody and syncopation that surely pleased his large audiences. It offers great musical effect requiring only moderately difficult technical effort.
