This Is Newly Printed Music
Philip Frederick Wright James (1890–1975) was born in New Jersey and served churches in the New York
City area during his life. He studied briefly with Bonnet, became a Fellow of the AGO, directed the famous “Pershing’s
Band,” and taught Milton Babbitt and Bernard Herrmann. He wrote 19 original organ compositions and many transcriptions.
Friedrich “Fritz” Kreisler (1875–1962), universally known for his violin performances and recordings,
had an ear for memorable, sentimental melodies such as these. Moderate.
