Carl Maria von Weber (1786–1826)
was a German composer of the early Romantic period. Many hear anticipatory fragments pointing to Wagner in some of his
music. He was commissioned by The Royal Opera in London to compose and produce
Oberon, and in 1826 he traveled to England to
conduct the premiere there.
Samuel P Warren (1841–1915), though born in Montreal, made his mark on the organ world
in New York City. He was a
founder of the American Guild of Organists, a respected performer and teacher, and extraordinary transcriptionist.
