Pietro Alessandro Yon was born in Italy in 1886, moved to the US in 1907, became a citizen in 1921, and died in New York in 1943 at age 57.
“Humoresque” is the second of Twelve Divertimenti. Next to “Gesù bambino,” this is Yon’s most performed
composition. He was inspired to compose it after viewing an ancient organ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He recorded it
for Aeolian in 1925 as Roll #3212. Medium difficulty with minimal pedal.
