Louis Meyer (died 1897)

The Open Diapason March Listen & Purchase Back

Louis Meyer was a composer and violinist. As a violinist, he was skilled enough to play in Richard Wagner’s orchestra in Beyreuth. As a composer, he wrote popular music for the parlor piano and cabinet (pump) organ. The title refers to the main set of pipes in any pipe organ, the Open Diapason. Meyer was a prolific arranger and issued this piece in 1885 for organ or piano solo and duet, and brass band.
